Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 March 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Outfront Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use QR Hound. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who We Are

Outfront Solutions Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through QR Hound. If you have questions or concerns about how we handle your data, contact us at privacy@qrhound.co.uk.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following personal data when you use QR Hound:

  • Account information — your first name, last name, and email address when you register.
  • Payment information — billing details collected and processed by Stripe, Inc. on our behalf. We do not store your full card details.
  • Usage data — information about the QR codes you create, including destination URLs and scan counts.
  • Log data — standard server logs including IP addresses and request timestamps, retained for security and operational purposes.
  • Analytics data — if you consent to non-essential cookies, we collect anonymised usage data about how you interact with our website via Google Analytics. This may include pages visited, session duration, browser type, device type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Your IP address is anonymised before it is stored by Google.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the QR Hound service.
  • Process payments and manage your subscription.
  • Send transactional emails such as account confirmations and billing receipts.
  • Respond to support enquiries.
  • Understand how visitors use our website and improve the service (analytics, with consent only).
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

Our lawful basis for processing is primarily the performance of a contract with you. Analytics data is processed on the basis of your consent. Where we have a legal obligation to retain data, we rely on that legal obligation.

4. Third Parties

We share data with the following third-party services:

  • Stripe, Inc. — processes payments on our behalf. Stripe is certified to PCI DSS standards and operates under its own privacy policy available at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Google LLC (Google Analytics) — if you consent to non-essential cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised data about how visitors use our website. Google Analytics operates under Google's privacy policy available at policies.google.com/privacy. We have enabled IP anonymisation and use Google's Consent Mode so that no analytics data is collected unless you grant consent.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties for marketing or any other purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (for example, financial records which we retain for 7 years). Analytics data retained by Google is subject to Google's own retention policies, which you can adjust in Google's settings.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel who need it to operate the service.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict or object to our processing of your data.
  • Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — you may withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or contacting us.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@qrhound.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for the service to function, and — with your consent — analytics cookies from Google Analytics. Please see our Cookie Policy for full details and instructions on managing your preferences.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice in the service. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
